Frequently asked questions
Why not just rename .heic to .jpg?
Renaming does not convert anything — the bytes stay HEIC and most systems still fail. We genuinely decode and re-encode.
Does Live Photo / burst content matter?
You get the main still frame — exactly what photo requirements ask for. Effects and video parts of a Live Photo are not part of the HEIC still.
What about EXIF data (location, date)?
Re-encoding drops EXIF including GPS (a privacy plus for job/visa submissions). Orientation is applied so the photo comes out upright.
Can I convert many photos at once?
Batch mode is on the roadmap. Right now, convert them one by one — each takes seconds and preview is free.
When this tool is not the right choice
